Connect your Wix site

Before you start

• Your Wix site is published, and the Wix Blog app is added to it.
• You are signed in to Wix as the owner of that site, or as a collaborator who may add apps.
• Your blog has at least one site member — that is who articles are published as. If you write posts on your own blog already, you are one.

Connecting in one click

1. In YoDon, open Sites and choose Connect a site, then Wix.
2. Select Continue to Wix. Wix asks which of your sites to add YoDon to, and shows exactly what it may do: read and manage your blog, add images to your media library, and read your site's members so it knows who to publish as.
3. Approve it. You land back in YoDon with the site connected and its name filled in.

Nothing is typed and nothing is stored on your side. If you close the Wix screen instead of approving, nothing is connected and you can start again.

Who articles are published as

Wix shows an author on every blog post, so YoDon has to publish as one of your site members. If your site has exactly one, it is chosen for you. If it has several, pick the one you want under Publish as on the site's card in YoDon — you can change it whenever you like, and it only affects future articles.

If your site has no members yet, add yourself as one in Wix — Members is part of the Blog app — and then re-check the connection from the Sites page.

What arrives on your blog

The article is rebuilt out of native Wix blocks, not pasted in as code. That is what lets your blog's design apply to it and lets you edit it afterwards in the Wix editor:

• Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, and links that keep their nofollow marking where the article set one.
• Bulleted and numbered lists, quotes, code blocks and dividers.
• Comparison tables and feature matrices, as real tables with a header row.
• The FAQ block, as a collapsible list marked up as questions and answers, which is what search engines read for rich results.
• Images, uploaded into your own Wix media library — the featured image becomes the post's cover.
• The SEO title and description, the URL slug, and the article's structured data.
• The sources the article was written from, as a linked list at the end.

Two things behave differently on Wix than on WordPress. Wix styles posts with its own blog design, so YoDon's "match my site" styling does not apply — your blog's look wins, which is usually what you want. And the bar figure YoDon draws for numeric comparisons arrives as a two-column table, because the numbers matter more than the bars.

Categories

YoDon reads your blog's categories and files each article under the one it was written for. If the category does not exist yet, it is created with that name. Wix limits a category name to 35 characters and a post to ten categories.

Drafts, scheduling and refreshes

A draft arrives unpublished in your Wix blog dashboard, where you can read it, edit it and publish it. YoDon checks back and marks the article published once you do.

Scheduling stays on YoDon's side: at the scheduled moment the post is published for you, in the time zone your automation uses. And a refresh rewrites the post that is already live — same URL, same post — so the page keeps its history instead of competing with a copy of itself.

Connecting with an API key instead

Agencies and owners of many sites sometimes prefer an account-wide key to installing an app. In the Wix connect dialog, open "Connect with an API key instead" and you will need two values from your Wix account settings: an API key with permissions for Blog, Media and Members, and your Account ID, both on the API Keys screen. YoDon then lists the sites that key can reach and you pick one.

The key is stored encrypted and used only for the site you chose. It stays valid until you revoke it in Wix, which is the trade-off: one click is safer, a key is more portable.
