Connect your Shopify store

Install YoDon from the Shopify App Store, link it to your account, and every finished article lands under Content, Blog posts on your store — draft or live, refreshed in place next time.

Before you start

  • A Shopify store, and you are signed in as the store owner or a staff account that can install apps.
  • A blog on your store to publish to — Shopify creates one named News by default, or you can add your own under Online Store, then Blog posts.

Installing from the Shopify App Store

  1. Find YoDon on the Shopify App Store and select Install.
  2. Shopify asks you to approve the permissions YoDon needs: reading and writing blog content, and reading and writing files for the images it uploads.
  3. YoDon opens inside your Shopify admin. Select Create or link your YoDon account, and sign in or register.
  4. Choose which blog to publish to and which author name articles should use.

Writing an article

Write from the embedded page inside Shopify admin for a single article, or open the full YoDon dashboard for automations, bulk generation and internal linking — both write to the same store.

Drafts vs live

Send an article as a draft and it appears unpublished under Content, Blog posts — read it, edit it and publish it whenever you like. Send it live and it publishes immediately.

Refresh in place

A refresh rewrites the same blog post — same URL, no duplicate — so the page keeps its history instead of competing with a copy of itself.

Plans and billing

An account created from inside Shopify is billed and managed on your Shopify pricing page — payment method, plan changes and cancellation all happen there. An account that already had a yodon.com subscription before installing keeps that subscription unchanged.

Disconnect and uninstall

Removing the site from YoDon's Sites page stops publishing and forgets the credential, but the app stays installed in Shopify. To fully remove YoDon, uninstall the app from your Shopify admin — that also revokes its access immediately.

Questions

Does YoDon see my orders or customers?
No. The Shopify app only asks for permission to read and write blog content and files. It never requests access to your orders, customers or products.
Where do the articles show up?
As posts on the blog you chose, under Content, then Blog posts, in your Shopify admin. They use whichever theme template your storefront already uses for blog posts.
Can I write from inside Shopify, or do I need the full YoDon dashboard?
Either. The embedded page inside Shopify admin covers writing and publishing one article at a time. The full YoDon dashboard adds automations, bulk generation and internal linking.
I already had a YoDon account. What happens if I install the Shopify app?
Sign in with that account when YoDon asks you to create or link one, and your existing plan, articles and other connected sites stay exactly as they were — the store is just added as a new site.
What happens to my plan if I installed from Shopify?
It is billed and managed on your Shopify pricing page, not on yodon.com. If you were already a yodon.com subscriber before installing, that subscription keeps working as it always has.
I uninstalled the app in Shopify. What happens?
Publishing stops immediately and the access token is deleted. Nothing already published to your blog is removed. Installing the app again and linking the same account picks up where you left off.
